Heal Your Body, Calm Your Mind – 4 Week Series

In this 4 week series, you will learn two powerful methods for working with stuck patterns of physical tension and stress. Through the Alexander Technique, we will explore fixation in the body, which could be manifesting as pain or stiffness. Through a simple meditation practice, we will take a look at fixation in the mind. Can we better deal with stress and anxiety by living less up in our head?
By utilizing both the AT and meditation, we will develop a set of skills for examining and transforming stuck patterns in our lives. Each class will consist of gentle hands-on guidance, experiential exercises, readings, and a short meditation session. This class is capped at THREE STUDENTS!

This class will take place over 4 Wednesdays starting on 3/15. The class runs from 7:15 PM until 8:35 PM. No previous experience is required.
Dan Cayer is a teacher and writer committed to helping others change habitual patterns, find freedom from pain, and create a sane relationship with their body. He received his teaching certification from The American Center for the Alexander Technique in New York City. After a serious injury left Dan unable to work, or carry out household tasks like cleaning dishes, he began studying the Alexander Technique.
His return to health, as well as his deep experience with the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of pain, inspired him to help others. Dan now teaches the Technique as a method of recovering balance and well-being. As a complement, he is also trained as a teacher in the Art of Swimming where he shows students how to undo the habitual tensions and fear responses that impede one’s progress in the water.
