Posture and Meditation at the New York Botanical Garden

Meditation is not something that happens only up in the head. Posture that keeps you upright and grounded can help you tap into tremendous clarity. Incorporating the Alexander Technique—which focuses on un-learning disruptive physical habits in order to achieve an aligned and balanced state—teacher/meditator Dan Cayer helps you develop natural meditation postures. By applying curiosity and warmth to your body, rather than inflexible ideals, you develop the taste for being present which brings wisdom and power to your practice.
This class is part of “Meditation Saturday” at the New York Botanical Garden Midtown campus. It is the second of three classes offered on Saturday, February 20 for individuals interested in starting or deepening their meditation practice. It is possible to take one class or all three depending on your interest.
