Embracing Discomfort: Relating to Your Body with the Power of Mindfulness

November 2, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - December 7, 2015 @ 8:45 pm

Mindfulness and pain, Alexander technique

Many of us feel our body isn’t in the condition we wish it were: it’s too weak, too large, it’s painful or growing old, and our attempts to “improve” or “correct” our physical limitations are the result of conditioned habits of self-aggression and perfectionism.  Consider what it could be like to relate to your body, your posture, and your pain without struggling against the reality of the present moment.

Join Dan Cayer at this unique six week course which incorporates meditation and the Alexander Technique to help you develop skills and practices designed to create a more direct and compassionate relationship with your body.

With mindful movement practices, healing contemplations, and hands-on guidance, you’ll learn how to listen to your body and respond skillfully and compassionately to its needs. You’ll learn to develop healthy posture and shed habitual patterns of tension.

This class runs for six consecutive Mondays beginning on November 2 and ending on December 7. Each class night runs from 7 PM to 8:45 PM.
