Dad Bods, Bad Bods, and Pain: Working with Our Body

Often our body isn’t in the condition we wish it were: it’s too weak, too large, painful or old. Many of our attempts to improve or correct the body have flavors of self-aggression and perfectionism. What would it be like to work with your body, your posture, and pain without struggling against the present moment?
Through movement, meditation exercise, and hands-on guidance, you will learn how to listen to your body and respond skillfully and compassionately to its needs. The Alexander Technique is a century-old method for improving coordination, balance, and posture that is required curriculum at institutions like Julliard for its ability to transform habitual patterns.
