A Mindful Path to Wellness

Would you like to feel more centered? To meet the stresses and unpredictability of life with a sense of balance? Can you imagine having a less negative mental narrative about yourself?

We’ve designed this class for everyone interested in learning to live a mindful life, or deepening their current mindfulness practice. In this unique six week series, you’ll learn both traditional meditation techniques and contemporary approaches to feeling at home in your own body and mind. We’ll help you establish a daily mindfulness practice that incorporates difficult and happy emotions as well as painful and relaxing sensations. This course will include discussion, sitting practice, optional hands on posture adjustments, q&a, and experiential exercises. Use your body as it’s designed, rather than struggle against it.

No experience is necessary. Chairs, cushions and props are available.


Dan Cayer is a nationally certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and a graduate of IDP’s Meditation Teacher Training. After a serious injury left Dan unable to work or carry out tasks like cleaning dishes, he began studying the Alexander Technique. His return to health, as well as his experience dealing with the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of pain, has inspired him to help others. Dan now teaches the Alexander Technique as a method of recovering balance and well-being. He advocates it as a fantastic embodiment of mindfulness and awareness both on and off the cushion.
